When these four collections of poems and drawings were published in 1979-1980 even B&W photocopying was rare and expensive; color photocopying was non-existant.

They were created as hand drawings on ink sheets to transfer alcohol-soluble pigment onto an absorbent paper stencil. Each color was drawn on a different ink sheet, transferring its color onto the same paper stencil. The stencil was affixed to a Gestetner spirit duplicator drum which printed on ordinary paper. Each stencil hade in runs of about 100. To achieve the multi-color effect, a single paper stencil was marked with different colors of stencil ink, producing each page in one pass until at least one color of the stencil ink was exhausted. The stencil was then discarded.

They were sold unbound at independent bookstores in downtown Montréal.
